Alice Bonner, PhD, RN, FAAN, FAANP, is Senior Advisor for Aging at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement and Chair of the Moving Forward Nursing Home Quality Coalition. She is also Adjunct Faculty at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing and has been a nurse practitioner for over 30 years. Dr. Bonner served as Secretary of the Executive Office of Elder Affairs for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts from 2015 to 2019, and she served as Director of the Division of Nursing Homes in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services in Baltimore, Maryland, from 2011 to 2013. Her research interests include home and community-based programs, nursing home quality, and nursing workforce development.
